OODA Loop
The OODA Loop is not the name of a new breakfast cereal. Nor is it something you swing around your hips.
In fact, it is a sequence of activities being to Observe, Options, Decision & Action and it is suggested that organisations that have shorter OODA Loops are better able to control adverse situations.
In practice, an OODA Loop involves observing what is going on and learning as much as possible about a situation in a short period of time. From this, various options are generated to deal with the situation and then a quick decision is made and action is taken.
However, the final important step is looping. This is where the organisation tracks the evolution of the situation and reverts to the start of the process to modify and improve its response.
